Economist, Economic Growth Expert, and Author
Biographical Summary – Gerard Francis Lameiro, is an Economist, Economic Growth Expert, and CEO of Lameiro Economics LLC, a company focused on bringing practical economic knowledge about freedom, economic growth and prosperity to America and to the world. Author of America’s Economic War, Dr. Lameiro was previously a member of Hewlett-Packard’s Strategy and Corporate Development team where he was Director of New Business Ventures for HP worldwide and managed HP’s Technology Evaluation Process worldwide. He is the former worldwide President of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and a National Science Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Lameiro was also an Assistant Professor in Colorado State University’s College of Business. Dr. Lameiro, a frequent and popular TV and Talk Radio show guest, is an expert in economic growth as well as in economic and business growth models.
Biographical Sketch – Gerard Francis Lameiro, is an Economist, Economic Growth Expert, and CEO of Lameiro Economics LLC, a company focused on bringing practical economic knowledge about freedom, economic growth and prosperity to America and to the world. America’s Citizen-Philosopher, Dr. Lameiro, has extensive knowledge, education, and experience that span many disciplines. An avid reader and learner, Dr. Lameiro’s knowledge spans theology, philosophy, economics, finance, strategy, management, marketing, psychology, physics, energy, engineering, operations research, mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Dr. Lameiro’s expertise is in complex, real-world economic, business, and engineering models, including conceptual, static, dynamic, and stochastic models. Dr. Lameiro is an expert in economic growth as well as in economic and business growth models. Certainly, Dr. Lameiro can be called a renaissance individual.
Dr. Lameiro holds a Bachelor of Science degree with High Distinction in Mathematics (Computer Science option). His two major undergraduate projects included: Solution of N-th Order Boundary Value Problems Using the Method of Least Squares and Simulation of Air Traffic Control. Dr. Lameiro also holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration. His master’s thesis was: Simulation of Organizational Behavior, a dynamic computer model for simulating human behavior within an organization. Dr. Lameiro’s Ph.D. degree is in Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Engineering and Operations Research specialization). His Ph.D. dissertation was: Stochastic Models of Solar Energy Systems. All of his degrees were from Colorado State University. During his Ph.D. work, he was twice awarded Colorado Energy Research Institute Fellowships. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Lameiro became a National Science Foundation Post-Doctoral Energy-Related Fellow.
With his solar energy models as a foundation, Dr. Lameiro went on to become a Senior Scientist at the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) which is now called the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He also became an Editorial Board member of Energy Engineering as well as an Editorial Board member of Energy Economics, Policy, and Management. Dr. Lameiro was elected President of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and became a member of their Board of Directors. He founded and chaired AEE’s National Energy Policy Council (NEPC) and was also Chairman of AEE’s Solar Engineering Council. Dr. Lameiro subsequently received an Outstanding Service Award from the Association of Energy Engineers.
Dr. Lameiro was also an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Colorado State University (CSU). While a professor and at various other times, he taught classes in Computer Information Systems, Management Science, Computer Science, Management, and Marketing. He was awarded the Honors Prof Award and the Alumni Faculty Award for outstanding teaching.
Dr. Lameiro also started a boutique strategy and modeling think tank, Lameiro Research Institute (LRI). Lameiro Research Institute was primarily focused on management and marketing strategy for Fortune 100 corporations. Dr. Lameiro ran LRI for about eight years and created such programs as Passionate Executive Performance and Fast-Track Marketing.
Dr. Lameiro also joined Hewlett-Packard and held a variety of engineering, marketing and management positions. Dr. Lameiro was awarded an Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for his efforts on behalf of the HP OpenView Software Division. Dr. Lameiro also played a major role in developing the HP Computing Utility Services Division. Dr. Lameiro was responsible for negotiating and closing some major innovative deals with HP partners.
At Hewlett-Packard, Dr. Lameiro became involved in business model design, investment analysis, technology evaluation, internal consulting and strategy. Subsequently, Dr. Lameiro became a member of HP’s Strategy and Corporate Development group.
As Director of New Business Ventures for Hewlett-Packard, Dr. Lameiro founded and managed the highly successful HP Technology Evaluation Process that spanned HP worldwide and was deemed to be an industry best practice. During that time, he worked with thousands of executives from around the world.
After about sixteen years with HP, Dr. Lameiro retired early from Hewlett-Packard to pursue his dream of helping to eliminate the poverty of destitution throughout the world by bringing practical economic knowledge to America and the world.
Dr. Lameiro has appeared over the years in a number of biographical publications including, but not limited to, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America and American Men and Women of Science. Dr. Lameiro was also selected for membership in a number of honor societies including: Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma (Business), Kappa Mu Epsilon (Mathematics), and Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society of North America).
Dr. Lameiro is now CEO of Lameiro Economics LLC, a company focused on bringing practical economic knowledge about freedom, economic growth and prosperity to America and to the world. He is also a frequent and popular TV and Talk Radio show guest.
