"America's Economic War" Nominated for 2010 Hayek Book Award

The Manhattan Institute informed me that my new book: “America’s Economic War – Your Freedom, Money and Life: A Citizen’s Handbook for Understanding the War between American Capitalism and Socialism” is being considered by the Selection Committee for the 2010 Hayek Book Prize.

The annual Hayek Prize honors the book published within the past two years that best reflects F.A. Hayek’s vision of economic and individual liberty. The winner of the Hayek Prize will be given a $50,000 award and asked to deliver the annual Hayek Lecture in New York City later this year.

“America’s Economic War” was written with three major objectives in mind.  First, it brings the ideas of F. A. Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman and others on economic freedom and individual liberty to the average citizen and reader by describing the nature of American Capitalism and Socialism in a reader-friendly style.

Second, it does so by outlining the 47 major battles and 3 special battles currently raging across America’s culture, politics and economy that impact American citizen’s freedom, money and life in a very personal and profound way.

Third, this book presents a number of original contributions on economics and economic growth including: the Architecture of American Capitalism – an explanation for why American Exceptionalism exists; the Moral Case for American Capitalism – a clear, concise and comprehensive explanation for the moral foundations of American Capitalism; and Socialism’s Chain of Control – an explanation for why socialism impacts not only an economy, but also both culture and politics, in a way that limits or eliminates freedom.
