Are they “Boys and Girls” or “Purple Penguins?”

Do you remember when it was OK to call children “boys and girls?”  Well, guess what?  It is no longer politically correct to call children “boys and girls.”  But, you can call them “purple penguins.”  What is going on in our politically correct culture?

The answer is that once again Freedom of Speech and common sense are being tossed out the window by the politically correct Power Lovers who try to dominate our culture and limit our freedoms.

Todd Starnes on reports that teachers in the Lincoln (Nebraska) Public Schools are being told not to use the terms “boys and girls.”  Instead, they should try to make their classrooms more “gender inclusive.”  The term “you guys” is out.  The term “ladies and gentlemen” is out too.

Instead of using the terms boys and girls that have been used for decades, if not centuries, teachers are supposed to come up with other names like “purple penguins” or whether they like skateboards or bikes.

Todd Starnes even quotes one resource as saying: “When you find it necessary to reference gender, say ‘Boy, girl, both or neither.”

Is this political correctness run amok?  What’s happened to our Freedom of Speech?
